Each and every Georgette da Mocidade's record are super rare and thus super expensive. And there is a reason to that! I found this record in the magnificient shop of Casarão do Vinil in São Paulo back in April, 2019, a year ago! The record was near mint and was hidden under a piece of furniture. I took it and held it up like a trophy, an expensive one but it but it was worth it. Unfortunately, Georgette's work is not on digital streaming platforms yet, you can only have access to this particular song that i'm sharing now.

Here is a little text written by the genius curator Tahira from São Paulo who compiled this great track in his levanta poeira compilation:

Back in 1976 Georgette or Georgete da Mocidade recorded “Kiriê” – a track produced by the genius Ed Lincoln, a pioneer of sambalanço, a very groovy music style which mingles samba rhythms and American jazz. The Afro influences on this track are unmistakable. The simple foundation of guitars and percussion create a very warm and electrifying sound layered by Georgette’s beautiful vocals. The rhythmic pattern of the percussion intro is called “Congo de Outro", an Afro Brazilian rhythm with Bantu origins that heavily inspired modern producers and laid the foundation for Baile Funk.
